Mango '97-'08

Mango was born on Nov. 17, 1997. she's an English Bullmastiff and was super friendly to everyone, even our cats. When Mango was growing up, surrounded by cats, she too thought that she could jump up to high places and climb everywhere, like the couch. she turned eleven this past november and started to get old lady bumbs all over her body and her insides began to ache with pain. But she would always try and put a smile on, especially when she knew the block of cheese was taken out of the fridge. This past tuesday, december 16, we decided to end her suffering and send her to a better place. She will be missed by many. This is the last photo i took of Mango

the more practice, the better it gets

because my concentration is on the human form, hipbone is the only place that i know right now that has live nude models. i feel that if i keep on coming to hipbone i can really grow on my sense of perception and life drawing/ human form.

I'm doing my concentration on different ways of visualizing and creating the human form.

I am planning on doing a mix of paintings and drawings of both dressed and undressed + males and females + young and old.

there will be different poses and situations the people will be in.

if anyone has any cool ideas that could help, please let me know. thanks

the Summer art!

some one asked me if i was tripping on acid while painting this and i found that to be quite funny.

This summer I had the privilege to attend MCAD's (Minneapolis College of Art and Design) Summer Expression Session (SES) II. The second session offered four different majors to take and i thought painting seemed to look the most challenging, but the most useful ( for going into AP). But when the two weeks were done, i realized that painting was still useful, but wasn't as hard as i hoped it to be. There were 3 classes that were required for everyone to take: drawing, text & Image, and one of the four major's (painting). MCAD allowed me to grow as an artist and intake different styles and techniques to use for future art work. I found the overall MCAD experience exciting, hard working with long hours, but ended up to be the best thing I did this summer.
I recommend MCAD's SES program to anyone who's willing to learn, work hard, befriend ton's of people from around the nation (mostly Midwest), earn some college credit, and have lots of fun.
